You can also help justify the cost by reminding yourself that the S24 Ultra is not the most expensive Ultra phone Samsung has ever made. That prize goes to the Galaxy S20 Ultra, the first of the line, which cost a massive $1,399 at launch in 2020. Since then and until now, each Ultra phone has been $1,199.

After a year, Samsung's Exynos 2100 needs to make significant progress, particularly in the graphics domain, as demonstrated by the Snapdragon 888.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 outperformed the Exynos 2200 by a wide margin in 2022 as well. However, a phone is more than just its processor speed. It is the total of numerous pieces. Unfortunately, Exynos's flaws also extended to numerous other domains.
Independent testing and DxOMark experts have also shown that Galaxy flagships with Qualcomm processors have superior cameras than those with Exynos chips. That's highly ironic considering how proud Samsung is of the camera capabilities of its Galaxy S line.

2024 is a different ballgame
It's evident from Google's Pixel 8 Pro that AI is not vaporware in the same sense as NFTs, crypto, or Web3. Large language model-based generative AI techniques are here to stay and will significantly alter phones. In both the premium and midrange phone markets, Qualcomm and MediaTek are working hard to pack generative AI intelligence into their devices.
With its most recent phones, Samsung even fully committed to the Galaxy AI motif. So far, their grandiose demos and audacious pledges have yielded nothing. Samsung has the power to alter that.
